Remember the days when you could do business by word of mouth in your local community? That is good for companies that only service a local marketplace, but even they are competing online with out-of-town competitors these days. Even if these providers can’t service your town, they may be competing for online real estate on google. This makes it tough. So how to you compete in this new digital world?
Most people start with google or other search engines to find answers to their questions and advice to fix their problems. This is true for both consumers and businesses. So if you are not ranking well on search engines, you are missing great opportunities for new business.
In today’s marketplace you truly need to be looked at as a thought leader in order to set yourself apart. It is no longer good enough to just have a website or be listed on a Chamber or BBB website. Today you need to be found in multiple locations websites, blogs, social media sites, directory sites, industry groups/organizations websites and on “ranking sites” like Yelp and Trip Advisor.
So how do you do it all? How do you keep up? It seems like things are changing so fast that it is hard to know which tools to use before the world changes again.
